Is Nationwide on our side?

Under CEO Kirt Walker's leadership, Nationwide and Nationwide Children's Hospital have supported child sex changes, pushed DEI initiatives, and engaged in intimidation tactics. Are they really on our side?

  • Recently, Nationwide began rebranding its DEI programs and deleting references to DEI and replacing them with “belonging, respect and fairness.”
  • As of 2024, Nationwide said it was committed to “maintaining an associate base that reflects America’s diversity … from high school and college interns through our most senior leadership positions.”
  • Nationwide bragged about board diversity stating “Our Nationwide Funds Board of Trustees is also diverse, with 25% racially/ethnically diverse members and 50% women.”
  • Nationwide hosted a supplier diversity program aimed at “establishing effective and positive business relationships with diverse suppliers” and fostering the “promotion, growth and development of minority, women, LGBT, and veteran owned enterprises.” In 2024, Nationwide claimed its supplier diversity program had resulted in its suppliers spending “over $43 million on diverse suppliers in a 12-month period.”
  • Nationwide deleted various awards it had received for its DEI efforts, including: Human Rights Campaign’s “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality,” The “Diversity Best Practices Inclusion Index,” Latina Style’s “50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work,” Forbes’ “America’s Best Employers for Diversity,” Seramount’s “100 Best Companies for Multicultural Women,” and Black Enterprise’s “Best Companies for Diversity.”
  • Kirt Walker, the CEO of Nationwide is also the Chair of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital, which has been prioritizing woke policies over patients such as DEI and transgender care for kids.
  • According to Do No Harm, Nationwide Children’s Hospital has performed sex change procedures on at least 118 children.
  • Nationwide Children’s Hospital runs an outpatient program called THRIVE, which develops treatment plans for families of “transgender and gender diverse youth and adolescents.”
  • The Butterfly Guild of Nationwide Children’s Hospital has hosted several fundraising events featuring drag performers Nina West and Gretta Goodbottom to raise money for the children’s hospital.
  • The hospital still prioritizes DEI training – noting they are “leaders in reporting bias and microaggressions in the work environment” – as a component of their emergency medicine education. The hospital offers trainings on topics such as “Why Health Equity Should Matter to You Too,” “Investigating Your Relationship to Black Pain,” and “Intersectionality and Cultural Humility” that run from 2024-2027.
